Tom Carpenter, CPCU, Area President of Arthur J. Gallagher Risk Management Services, Inc., brings years of successful industry experience to the firm and specializes in property management and construction related risks.  He is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration.  Co-founder of Carpenter, Cammack & Associates, Inc., now a merger partner of Gallagher, he worked in the Bond department at the Aetna Casualty & Surety Company and was a stockholder in a large regional agency.  He earned his Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation in 1984.

Tom is a member of the Associated Builders and Contractors of the Carolinas as well as Carolinas AGC (The Associated General Contractors of America).  He resides in Charlotte with wife Beth, Area Director of Marketing for the firm. 

Elizabeth B. Carpenter, CPCU, CIC, AFSB, ARM, ARe, Area Senior Vice President & Director of Marketing at Arthur J. Gallagher Risk Management Services, Inc., joined the firm in 1994.  Beth obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in English at the State University of New York at Cortland, before beginning her insurance career at Aetna Life and Casualty Company in 1979.  She held various underwriting and marketing positions in Bond and Commercial Underwriting in the firm’s home office in Hartford, Connecticut, as well as in North Carolina, Illinois and New York during her 15-year tenure with the firm. 

Beth has earned the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC), Associate in Fidelity and Security Bonding (AFSB), Associate in Risk Management (ARM), and Associate in Reinsurance (ARe) insurance designations.  She is a member of the Charlotte chapter of CPCU and resides in Charlotte with her husband, Tom.

Matthew R. Davis, serves as anAccount Executive at Arthur J. Gallagher Risk Management Services, Inc., and specializes in working with real estate and hospitality clients. He obtained his Bachelor of Science of Business Administration degree in Finance at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and is pursuing his Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designation to enhance his expertise in insurance and risk management. Craig R. Dedrick Jr., RWCS, CRIS Area Assistant Vice President, joined Arthur J. Gallagher Risk Management Services, Inc., as an Account Executive and specializes in bringing workers compensation and risk management solutions to the construction industry. Prior to joining Arthur J. Gallagher Risk Management Services, Inc., Craig was a Vice President for Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette and Credit Suisse First Boston. Craig is currently serving a 2 year term as the Chairman of the Charlotte Council of the Carolinas Chapter of the Associated Builders and Contractors. Craig also serves on the Board of Directors for the Greater Charlotte Hospitality and Tourism Association. Craig was named the industry professional of the year in both 2006 and 2007 for the Carolinas Chapter of the Associated Builders and Contractors. 

Craig is a graduate of Dickinson College where he obtained a BA in History and BA in Political Science. Craig is also a graduate of Lehigh University were he obtained an MA in History. Craig is also recognized as a Construction Risk and Insurance Specialist by the International Risk Management Institute and is a designated Registered Workers Compensation Specialist. Craig also graduated from the Institute of Workers Compensation Advisors.

Craig and his wife have been involved with a number of charities in the Charlotte area including the National Kidney Foundation.  He and his wife Jennifer reside in Wesley Chapel their son.

Brian J. Finnerty, serves as an Area Assistant Vice President at Arthur J. Paul H. Smits, CPCU, CIC, AIM, Area Senior Vice President of Arthur J. Gallagher Risk Management Services, Inc., brings over 22 years of successful experience in the insurance industry to the firm.  He began his career as a Medical Professional Liability Underwriter with The St. Paul Insurance Company in Charlotte, NC. He then held several management positions in the Commercial Insurance Division in St. Paul, MN.  He worked with a large regional agency in Charlotte as a top producer before joining the firm in 2002.  

Paul graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Finance and Accounting from the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire and holds designations as Chartered Property & Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) and Associate in Insurance Management (AIM).   He is a member of the Charlotte chapter of CPCU.  He resides in Charlotte with his wife, Lynn, and their four children.

Scott B. Parrish, Area Senior Vice President & Director of Loss Control Services at Arthur J. Gallagher Risk Management Services, Inc., joined the insurance industry in 1993. He specializes in loss control, workplace safety, OSHA compliance and related training. He has experience in providing risk management and safety services to various industries including general manufacturing, construction, textiles, furniture, food processing, distribution, service organizations, trucking and mining operations. Scott holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Technology and has also earned Certificates in Construction Safety and Health and Industrial Safety and Health from Georgia Tech. He is an authorized OSHA Outreach Trainer for General Industry and Construction and has been accredited by the National Safety Council as a Defensive Driving Instructor.
